Our research group works on understanding the harmful effects on the environment by natural and anthropogenic activities and find solutions for human benefit. We monitor water and soils for pollutants, conduct laboratory experiments on pollution removal as well as we model the soil and water systems to predict the pollutant behavior and their removal.
Topics of our current research areas are;
Pollution monitoring from Municipal Solid Waste Dump Sites in Sri Lanka
Toxic metal release from contaminated soils
Synthesize nano materials for water and waste water treatment
Effect of climate change on coastal groundwater
Pollution of groundwater sources by agrochemicals
Produce biochar from different waste feedstocks for contaminated soil and water systems
Groundwater and geochemical modeling
